DURING SEX, WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BODY?

SEXUAL RESPONSE CYCLE

During sex, your body undergoes physical and emotional changes known as the sexual response cycle. However, the sexual response cycle refers to the sequence of physical and emotional changes that occur when a person becomes sexually aroused. This is done by participating in sexually stimulating activities. Furthermore, there are four different phases of the sexual response cycle, including desire (libido), arousal (excitement), orgasm and resolution.

WHAT IS LIBIDO?

Libido is a term that is commonly used to describe a sex drive or a desire for sexual activity. However, libido is when you feel the desire to be sexual or are mentally or physically excited about engaging in sexual activities. This includes sexual thoughts, fantasies, or sexual contact with a partner. A healthy sex drive is a feeling of physical and emotional health! Moreover, it is not surprising that the foods you eat play an important role in boosting your sex life. Vegetables and fruits should be included in a balanced meal.

WHAT IS SEXUAL AROUSAL?

Being sexually aroused is the feeling of being turned on. When you are turned on, your body experiences physical and emotional changes. However, you can also be aroused when certain parts of your body are touched that are very sensitive (erogenous zones) and your sexual organ may become erect (hard). Moreover, you may feel wetness in your sexual organ.

WHAT ARE ORGASMS?

An orgasm is the peak of sexual excitement. It is a powerful feeling of physical pleasure and sensation. A male orgasm is usually accompanied by the release of ejaculatory fluid. However, according to studies, 10% of women also ejaculate during an orgasm. Some women are less likely to have orgasms than men. In addition, orgasms are the climax of sexual excitement that contains all pleasurable feelings.

RESOLUTION

During this phase, the body slowly returns to its normal functioning and swelled and erect body parts return to their previous size and color. However, this phase is often marked by a general sense of well-being and often fatigue. Moreover, both men and women go through these phases, although the timing differs in both genders.
